The library offers a diverse collection of books and resources, catering to every student’s interests and learning needs. It serves as a quiet retreat for reading, learning, and research projects.

Onsite before and after school Out of School Hours (OOSH) care

Our OOSH service offers supervised care, enriching activities, and homework support for students outside normal school hours. It provides families with flexible and reliable options for school-day extension, and also operates vacation care during school holidays for added convenience and support.

Canteen

Our canteen is open every day, providing nutritious meals and snacks to keep students energised throughout the day. It offers healthy options and friendly service, and also provides breakfast and lunch to support the wellbeing of all students.

Large open spaces for sports and outdoor activities

Our two spacious sports fields provide opportunities for outdoor games, physical education, and school events. They encourage active lifestyles and teamwork among students.

Nature and sensory playground

The nature playground invites students to explore and connect with the outdoors in a safe and stimulating environment. It promotes curiosity, imaginative play, and environmental awareness.

Bright and inviting playground equipment

Students can enjoy a variety of playground structures designed to enhance motor skills and encourage social interaction. These facilities ensure break time is both fun and engaging.

Full sized basketball court

The basketball court provides a vibrant space for sports, physical education, and friendly competition. It supports skill development and active play during and after school hours, and also welcomes other schools for exciting matches and tournaments.

Active handball spaces

Our handball courts are popular spots for energetic play and developing coordination. They provide an inclusive area for students of all skill levels to participate.

Wellbeing buddy bench

The wellbeing space features a Buddy Bench, fostering kindness and inclusion across the playground. It’s a place where students can find friends or seek support when needed.

Community garden

Built by our community in collaboration with local businesses, students learn about sustainability and healthy eating in the school’s vegetable garden. Gardening projects connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.

Multi-purpose hall space

The hall serves as a flexible space for assemblies, performances, learning, and community gatherings. Its spacious indoor setting accommodates a wide variety of school activities and comfortably fits our entire school and community. Community groups also have access to the hall on weekends, making it a welcoming venue for local events and sporting activities.

Covered Outdoor Learning Areas (COLAs) and event spaces

Our two COLAs offer sheltered areas for outdoor classes, lunch breaks, and play regardless of the weather. They also serve as versatile spaces for school events, supporting flexible learning and recreation throughout the day.

Inclusive play space

An inclusive play area ensures students of all abilities can participate in outdoor activities. Accessible design allows everyone to feel welcome and engaged.

Cricket nets

Cricket nets offer a safe place for students to practice their skills and enjoy the game. They enhance sporting opportunities and physical development.

Sensory play sandpits

Our sandpit area includes both a long jump sandpit and a play sandpit, encouraging creative play and teamwork among younger students. These spaces are favourites for building, experimenting, and learning through hands-on play.

Outdoor activity courts

Our outdoor activity courts feature vibrant and engaging playground markings, including hopscotch, number snakes, 100 charts, and an obstacle course. These spaces encourage active play, support numeracy and gross motor skill development, and provide students with a fun and interactive environment for learning and movement throughout the school day.

Peakhurst West swimming pool
The school has an onsite swimming pool, owned by the Department of Education, which is used for swimming lessons, carnivals, and various activities to promote water safety and build confidence. Community groups use the pool for external activities and clubs.

Resources and technology

At our school, we embrace modern technology and digital learning tools to enhance student learning and creativity. Students have access to iPads, laptops, Beebots, Lego robotics, and interactive whiteboards in every classroom. Access to these technologies is carefully timetabled across the school to support effective learning. As a NSW public school, we also benefit from a broad range of shared programs and resources available statewide, ensuring our students stay connected and equipped for the future.
